Project Description

For more than 26 years, Uniserver has been part of the foundation of the Dutch digital landscape. Hospitals, governments, schools and enterprise organisations rely on their sovereign cloud infrastructure every day.

Their infrastructure and data are stored in the Netherlands, under Dutch law. In today’s geopolitical climate, sovereign cloud has become a national priority, with organisations actively reassessing where critical workloads are stored and who controls them.

Uniserver has the scale, technical depth and operational track record to lead this shift. The brand needed to reflect that position more clearly.

The challenge

In a market shaped by hyperscalers such as Microsoft, AWS and Google Cloud, Uniserver had the opportunity to strengthen its position as a trusted Dutch cloud provider with a clear societal role. While the company had the scale, expertise and credibility to play a leading role in conversations around sovereign cloud and digital autonomy, this was not yet fully reflected in the brand and communication.

The existing positioning focused strongly on technical infrastructure, leaving room to build a clearer strategic narrative that connected Uniserver’s services to national relevance and long term digital resilience. At the same time, the brand had the potential to become more distinctive and recognisable in a market dominated by global technology players, while internally creating stronger alignment through brand management and communication.

The objective was clear: build a brand that reflects Uniserver’s role in Dutch society and positions the company as a leading voice on sovereign cloud and digital autonomy.

Approach

Using our Elevate Framework, we partnered with the Uniserver team to build The Next Uniserver. This full brand transformation covered brand vision, strategic positioning, identity, communication, campaigns and internal management and execution systems.

The work was centered around one key shift: Moving Uniserver from technical hosting partner to leading voice on sovereign cloud and digital autonomy for the Netherlands. A role that fits the company naturally.

Strategy & Positioning

The strategic foundation was built around one clear belief:
The Netherlands deserves digital autonomy.

From that belief, we developed a new positioning:
The engine behind critical infrastructure

And translated that into a direct and memorable claim:
“Nederland bouwt op onze cloud.”

The positioning reframes Uniserver from infrastructure provider to foundational enabler of Dutch society.

Identity System

The identity system was redesigned to express clarity, confidence and national relevance more clearly. The visual language moves away from generic cloud symbolism and draws inspiration from Dutch infrastructure, landscape logic and the real-world systems powered by Uniserver.

Bold colours, modular structures and grounded imagery create a more recognisable and coherent brand experience across every touchpoint. The identity focuses on the organisations, infrastructure and systems that rely on Uniserver.

Communication Strategy

A new communication framework was developed to make sovereign cloud understandable beyond technical audiences. The language system replaces technical abstraction with statements that are direct, accessible and relevant for executives, procurement teams and policymakers. Technical depth remains part of the story, but no longer becomes the barrier to entry.

The result is communication that is easier to understand, stronger in strategic contexts and more effective in building trust around a highly technical category.

Outcome

Uniserver is now positioned to actively lead the conversation around sovereign cloud and digital autonomy in the Netherlands.

The new brand gives clearer expression to the scale, expertise and societal relevance Uniserver already holds in practice, while giving Uniserver a clearer and more differentiated voice.

The work continues beyond launch. Together with the Uniserver team, we are still actively developing and growing the brand across touchpoints, campaigns and communication, ensuring the new strategic foundation is consistently brought to life.
